Luna walked into the park and she was wearing jeans, a purple button down shirt, and converse. Her long silver hair was down and her golden eyes were looking around her. she found a bench and she sat down. She watched as people walked past her and she sighed. She was waiting for the person who hurt her big brother, Edward and caused him to hate her. She tucked a strand of silver hair behind her ear and she waited for her. She continue to look around her with her golden eyes. You could see the scars and burns that were on her arms and there were not a lot on her face. Apparently her parents didn't want to cover her face with scars but still gave her some on her face. But her parents were dead and she was happy that they were dead. She sighed softly and waited

The young woman kept her wits about her. She knew that this town was filled with supernatural creatures, shifters and vampires. Though she was one of the few humans who knew this for a fact. She also knew the Volturi would most likely be trying to assess the sitaution and if they found out that the Cullens did not uphold their bargain, that the Cullens as well as herself would be put in a situation where it would not end well.
She had left a note with Charlie about going to the park. She felt like she owed it to him to at least tell him where she was going since he was at the station house. She didn’t want to call him and interrupt him. Smiling as she got ready in a pair of nice jeans and a nice top, the one that she had initally planned on taking with her during her honeymoon with Edward. Knowing the situation of course, she never went on that honeymoon.
Her emotions had gotten the best of her. And for once she hadn’t been able to stop it. She looked like any other young woman out for a walk as she entered the park. She hadn’t driven. She didn’t feel the need. Walking gave her the time and the serenity to think things through.
The pain in her heart was more than the woman had ever expected it would be. While away she was able to control it, to start to move forward with her life but now that she was back, the memories were getting to her more than ever. She hadn’t spoken to her former classmates, the few friends outside of the Cullen family that she had made when she had first been here. It was hard to believe how much time had passed since that day.
She had barely been in the park but a few minutes when her cell phone went off. “Hey...” She responded as the other person spoke, it was none other than her own father, Charlie Swan, who was the chief of police.
“Yes....of course I’ve got it. You don’t have to tell me twice. No, I’m not at the house, I just—I needed to get out of the house for a while before I go start my shift at work. I don’t start until tonight so I have plenty of time. Yeah, I know. Are they coming by tonight? I’ll make sure to make something for you guys before I head down to work." She sighed softly.
"Yes....okay. I love you too. I’ll see you when you get home. Bye.” She told Charlie as she hung up the phone right as she turned the corner, and when she did, she saw a woman wearing a purple button down shirt and jeans, with silver hair. If she didn’t know any better she would say that the woman was waiting for her. The woman’s golden colored eyes said it all, she was a vampire. But what kind of vampire was she? The kind like Edward Cullen?

Luna caught the scent of the person she was waiting for and she looked at her. "Hello, you must be Bella Swan. The person who hurt my brother, Edward's heart. My name is Luna Cullen, a shifter and the youngest sibling to the Cullen. " she said. She narrowed her golden eyes at the human who made her brother dislike her for her being a shifter. She already didn't like her and she crossed her scar and burnt covered her arms across her chest. She kept her golden eyes on the human girl in front of her. She sighed and waited for the human girl to say something. She glanced around her and then focused back on the human girl, who hurt her brother's heart and made him hate her despite the fact that Luna was Edward's little sister.

When the woman asked who she was, immediately her attention went directly on the other female. Her instincts were to avoid eye contact but in this situation she felt like she had to. She didn’t stare, because it was rude. After all she had noticed the scars and scrapes on the other woman as it wouldn’t be the first time she had run into someone with injuries such as these. Emily, Sam’s then fiancee when she had last seen her, also had scars due to Sam and his temper. But that was all in the past wasn’t it?
“Yes, I am. And as far as Edward is concerned I feel guilty enough for hurting him without anyone else adding to it thank you. But you’re new....so you would have only joined them sometime in the last six years.” So this was Edward’s sister? A shifter? Wow, so much had changed since she had spoken to Edward...and the Cullens. She felt like she was in trouble. Not just because this was in fact a vampire in front of her but one that didn’t necessarily like her. Not that she would blame the girl in front of her if she was truly Edward’s sister. “I’m well aware of how I’ve hurt him, even if it wasn’t something I wanted to do. But—no matter what I say it won’t be enough. Because I know I’ve hurt him. More so than anything he could have ever done to me. He’s a great guy and you’re lucky that he’s your brother, Luna.” But appologizing would not be enough. Not this time. She knew the other girl did not like her, as that was easy enough to see, just based completely upon the other woman’s facial features as well as to the tone in which she was using. She wished that things had not ended so difficultly between her and Edward but at the same time she couldn’t just turn back the clock and pretend it hadn’t happened either. She had been living with that same guilt, and every day it continued to build up.

Her body relaxed and she looked down at her lap sadly. "I don't think that I should consider myself lucky. He doesn't like me because I'm a shifter. I just wish that he would like me but he doesn't. I know that I can't possibly understand the pain that you and he are going through but I've experience worse pain then that." she said and she involuntarily rubbed her scar and burnt covered arms. She looked at the girl, Bella with her golden eyes. "The Cullen's saved me from the pain and suffering my parents put me through. I'm thankful for that but I can't get Edward to like me and I was told that it was because I'm a shifter and he hates losing you because of a werewolf shifter."she said and she kept her golden eyes on the human.

She watched as the other girl’s body relaxed and that made her feel more at ease. “You are though, he’s a good man. Edward’s got issues, because he thinks that my connection with the shifters of La Push had something to do with why I left him at the Alter when in reality it had nothing to do with them. You’ll have to give him time to adjust to it. I put Edward through more pain than I can even begin to describe but—I didn’t do it because I stopped loving him. It’s a bit more complicated than that.” She sighed as the other woman looked at her and their eyes locked for the first time.
She hesitated before speaking up again. “I knew—with the choice that I was making it would mean I’d lose my human family forever. Charlie and my mom. Because as a newborn—Edward told me I’d have trouble controlling my thirst. And the last thing I’d want was to hurt someone because of that." She sighed as she listened to Luna explain about her parents.
“I’m sorry about your parents. Edward’s—he’s never liked the fact that when he and the rest of your family left—after James attempted to kill me and they had to rip him apart and burn the pieces....” She whispered, the last part because she knew there were humans around. “When they left—I couldn’t concentrate. The pain was something I’ll never forget which is why I know that what I did to him was even worse. Edward blames the shifters for why I left, because of Jacob. Jacob’s my best friend, he’s also a shifter. When your family left—I was beside myself. I had nightmares, I couldn’t eat or drink without feeling like I was going to be sick. I didn’t want to even hang out with my friends because of how depressed I was. Jacob—he pulled me back together. He saved my life. The only time I didn’t feel pain was when I was with Jacob. I can’t explain why that was—but he was such a good friend to me. And I hurt him.” She explained as she looked at the other woman. “Even when Edward was gone, I still loved him. And that—that hurt Jacob more than anything I could have ever done. But Jacob has always been my best friend, nothing more....nothing less. And while I do love him—always will, it was nothing compared to what I felt for your brother....for Edward.” She explained knowing that it was getting harder to say.
“So that day—when I abandoned your brother—I didn’t do it simply to hurt him. That’s not what it was about. But I saw my friends there—your family—my own....and all I kept thinking is what I was leaving behind....because I knew I’d lose Mom and Charlie forever. I’d never be able to see them again and I’d have it on my conscious that they would—permanently lose me, as though I were dead. Because to them they don’t have any idea of vampires or shifters in existance and I would have to keep it that way. I realized just what I was giving up, in the place of being with the one person that at times it felt like I couldn't breathe without.”

Luna listened quietly to what Bella had to say and tears started to fill her golden eyes. The tears escaped her eyes and they slid down her cheeks. Tears continue to slid down her cheeks and she cried softly. "Don't be sorry about my parents. They did nothing good for me except abuse me." she said and she listened to her about talk about Edward. The tears continue to slid down her cheeks. "Then help heal my brother's heart. He still loves you and you should be with him. I don't want to see my big brother in pain and I don't want him to dislike me anymore. " she said and she continue to look at Bella but with sad golden eyes and she wanted to like Bella despite the fact that she left her brother and she looked at her lap

It was hard revealing the past between her and Edward, and her own instincts were to shut out the thoughts—of the overwhelming emotions that said thoughts brought out in her. “I’m sorry about that. Of what they did. So I take it Carlisle and Esme have welcomed you into their lives then, as have the others, save for Edward? I know that he has a judgement against the wolves, for what they are and what they do. Especially Jacob Black.” She hesitated when the woman spoke up again.
She raised a hand to move a strand of hair from her face before speaking up. “I think it’s going to take a lot more than that...I haven’t spoken to him since I left..I doubt he’d even want to see me let alone talk to me. And I can’t say that I would blame him. Even with our past connection—I don’t think that’s enough to say that we should be together. I don’t want to see him in pain either, believe it or not. It’s just complicated. My loving him has only hurt him...and that is the last thing that I wanted for him. Leaving him was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life.” It was the honest truth but what could she say? What could she do? Convincing Edward that she still cared for him was not enough. It would only hurt him even more as she still was unsure of whether or not she wanted to be a vampire even now.
She cleared her throat. “It’s also complicated because I can’t change my connection to the shifters and Edward hates them....and losing Jacob—after it’s all said and done. He’s my best friend and to lose him I don’t think I’d survive it. But I also know because he’s a shifter—and if I became like you—like Edward I’d lose him again.” She sighed hesitantly. “And even if I could heal Edward’s heart, I don’t—I don’t know if it would last. I just don’t want to be put in a situation where I’m going to lose everyone that I’ve ever loved. I also don't want to be responsible for hurting Edward all over again.” She’d already lost Edward but Jake and her mom and Charlie were still in her corner. Being back here reminded her of that.

She lowered her head a little and her silver bangs covered her golden eyes. Tears continued to slid down her cheeks and she continues to cry softly. "I did nothing for him to dislike me, all I did was try to became a part of the family and to be his little sister." she said and tears continued to slide down her cheeks. She listened to what Bella had to say and she looked at Bella with tears still sliding down her cheeks. "Then leave Edward alone and live near Jacob so my big brother won't have to see you and deal with the pain in his heart. " she said. She didn't feel sorry for Bella. This human hurt her brother's heart and she didn't like that his heart was hurting. She lowered her head and looked down at her lap. She cried softly.

Taking a deep breath she was getting irritated. “I know you didn’t. And it’s my fault that he’s acting like this. All I want is for him to be happy. But I don’t know how to do that without hurting people. You are his little sister whether he wants to admit it or not. Even if I was by his side like I was before, there’s no telling if he’d improve his outlook on shifters or not because he’s always had a grudge against Jacob and the Quileutes. It just makes things different. I didn’t come back to Forks simply to torture Edward. I do have a family here." She explained to the other woman.
A sigh escaped her lips. "Charlie’s here, and he’s one of the reasons I came back. He’s to me what Carlisle represents to you and to your siblings. I haven’t spoken to Edward since I’ve returned because I don’t want to hurt him. And I know that by seeing eachother it might create more of a problem than necessary and I care for him too much to hurt him again. I’m not going to move to La Push simply because my ex-fiancee can’t deal with the fact that I’m back where I belong. I don’t want him to be in pain, Luna. It’s just a very difficult situation. You have no idea what kind of a situation it’s put me in. Because I know that I’m the reason for his pain and it kills me knowing that I could’ve prevented it. That I still possibly can. All I do know is that everything happens the way it does for a reason and if something’s meant to happen then it will. Simple as that. It’s just that sometimes things happen for reasons in which we don’t always understand it.” She answered politely. She knew it was only a matter of time before things got worse. She wanted no she needed to talk to Edward before anything else happened.

Luna stood up and she clenched her hands into fists. She continued to cry and her body shooked slightly. She turned and she fled. She started to run as fast as she could and she didn't care if something bad happened to her. She stumbled and she didn't stop running. She didn't care if she got hit by a car and no one would care if something bad had happened to her. She had no one to love except for her family but they probably wouldn't care. Tears were blinding her and she ran blindly through the park. She just ran and ran. She cried as she ran and all of her horrible past washed over her. All of her horrible memories of her parents abusing her washed over her like a tidal wave. She stumbled again and a searing pain shot through her ankle. She fell hard on to the ground and she knew that she either sprained or broken her ankle. But she didn't care and she continue to cry. Her crying turned into sobbing and she cried.

Instincts kicked in the second that Luna started to flee. She felt guilty. The woman just didn’t understand the complexity of the issue at hand. Sighing she moved behind the woman as she didn’t know if she’d be able to keep up but she had to try, didn’t she? She wouldn’t want Edward’s sister to get hurt and then be blamed because she didn’t try and help.
As much as she knew there was a chance she wouldn’t be able to keep up due to the fact that well most of the Cullens were extremely fast, and she wasn't sure if Luna was the same way. Because she wasn't sure how fast she would get. It scared her to think that Luna might get hurt.
The second that she didn’t see Luna it instantly made her panic, but she didn’t have to wait long before she found the woman who looked like she’d injured herself. “Hey. You’re hurt. We need to get you to see Carlisle. He’ll be able to take care of that for you.” She told the other woman as she didn’t know what else to do. Helping others was in her nature and that was why she was willing to take a chance on the girl in front of her. She did not touch her though as she didn’t want to make the other girl upset. She was going to let the other woman make up her own mind first and foremost they had to make sure they got to a safer area.
This was all her fault and she knew it. If she hadn't brought up Edward and told Luna how she didn't know if it would work. She hadn't attempted it, despite how much she had loved Edward simply becuase she didn't know if she could go through it again, or if he would. She would have to swallow her own pride when she went to go see him. Despite what it might mean, despite the risk involved, she had to hope that it was all worth it, in the end.
Change was good under normal circumstances, although dealing with shifters and vampires alone were two different and each one as dangerous as the next. Loving Edward was what got them both in this mess and why she had to figure out a way to fix it. The pain that had been left behind in the wake since she had last seen him was as evident now as it had been then. And yet she knew that everything would somehow be okay. She wished Alice or someone would show up to help her as she had a feeling Luna would be stubborn about getting help now.
