The twenty four year old waitress, sat where she was. She listened to what Ethan had to say. “Yes, that is true. And yes, I have, but let’s say now is not the time or the place to discuss that. I interest you, do I?” She smiled as she looked at Ethan, and then watched as Ethan wrote a note and handed it to her. She opened it and read what it said before sliding it in her pocket. “You really think that is enough to scare me? I’ve faced worse. Dangerous or not, it’s not going to scare me away.” She didn’t know what to think.
“Friends are good to have, but the true test of it, is if they can handle everything you tell them.” It was the truth but she didn’t know what else she was supposed to do. “Well you can come back in an hour unless you have an idea of where it is you want to meet at. I'm able to meet anywhere, just let me know when and where. I’d like to know more about you, myself, about what it is that you’ve written here, but don’t worrry, secret’s safe with me.” She could handle whatever it was that Ethan had thrown at her after all she had been engaged to a vampire once, and her best friend was in fact a shifter, a wolf. So the fact that she met someone like Ethan was no surprise at all. Right now she was going to live her life like every day was the last. She wasn’t going to just waste her time anymore as time went by so fast. Now that everything she had ever known to be good and true no longer was, she was having issues with whether or not she should completely open herself up to anyone else. Even if what she had done, had been done with a reason, it wasn’t a very good reason.
She missed Edward, and wondered how he was. But she had to let go of it all, had to move on as best she could. There was no point in looking back, wondering what might have been when it was clear that she had chosen this life for a reason. Why she had chosen to stay human....instead of becoming like Edward. She kept her eyes on Ethan as she awaited for his answer. His answer would determine where they went from there.
