Everything gets a bit too much for everyone at times. Yes, even for Embry, the ever so calm and shy wolf of the pack. Sometimes he just needed to break away. Usually it was through shifting and going for a run, sometimes it was by diving of a cliff, most of the time it was by eating a sandwich while just doing absolutely nothing. But today it was something a little different.
He got dressed in proper clothes for once...you know, not the usual short jeans, no shirt thing the pack always had going on. Instead he pulled on a simple shirt, black, new jeans with new converse. La Push was his usual place, but he decided to go into Forks for the day, might go buy a book he will most likely never read and just do normal things. “Normal, yeah right.” He thought out loud. It was like that for him, normal just didn’t exist for him anymore...haven’t for a long time.
To be honest, he wasn’t sure it ever had. Jake always told him to grasp onto that little bit of normal you have left in your life. Embry always figured Jake’s ‘normal’ was Bella...but pfft, Embry didn’t exact agree with that full on. Embry also knew the guy loved Bella...why...well, he never really understood. Because why fall in love if you’re only going to end up leaving like Sam did with Leah, right? Nah...Em would wait for his ‘normal’...that...someone. He was in no rush; sure, he was jealous of those who already imprinted. It really felt like he was going to be the last one. But he didn’t care...or so he liked to say. But face it, truth is everyone wants that someone...who wouldn’t.
It didn’t take Em long, he reached Forks and after standing still at one place for a while, he decided to go get a coffee or something first. He may no longer feel the cold as he did before he turned, but man was it a while back since he had a coffee, something he was rather fond of before he had other things to think about. He entered the cafe’ and bit his bottom lip as he glanced around him before heading towards a table.

Post by AURALEI ARIANA CULLEN on Dec 22, 2012 10:51:14 GMT -5
Auralei drummed her fingers against the fine wood of the table beneath her. Graciously, she accepted a water filled with ice cubes from a waiter and resumed her fuming state. She really wasn't in a good mood that day and she needed a place to vent out her anger. Which, of course, meant the local coffee shop in Forks. And why, might you ask, was she in a foul mood? Well, that morning, she'd been caught in a sudden rainstorm and had accidentally tripped over a dog who had proceeded to bite her out of anger but only succeeded in breaking his teeth which had caused the owner to rush out in anger and chase Auralei away with a broom. Thus, Auralei wasn't particularly happy that morning. Heaving a sigh, Auralei leant back to stare at the window and trace words into the frost covered windows silently. That was, until a bell jingled, signifying that another customer had come in. Looking up, Auralei immediately looked down again for it was Embry Call, as in her long time, school girl, crush Embry Call. It may be a little foolish and ridiculous to fall in love at such an age as hers, but she really did love him.
Practically hiding behind her menu, the vampire and human hybrid took in the smell of wet dog with distaste but all the same couldn't help admire Embry. Averting her gaze from him after a few minutes with a blush, she watched people pass the coffee shop outside the window, talking and laughing.

As Embry headed over to a table his eye caught a certain blonde he saw around quite often. Of course he knew her rather well, considering she was a Cullen. But she still had a beating heart, blood running through her, so she was...another pet? He didn’t know much about her, just enough for him not to be labelled as a stalker or someone who sticks their nose into places they are clearly not wanted. Personal things were private, and he respected that.
He took in a breath through his nose and the faint vampire stench hit him unexpectedly. He blinked rapidly for a second, almost like someone who just walked into a kitchen where another was chopping up a thousand onions. He swallowed and shook his head slightly, half turning his body towards the girl as he narrowed his eyes, inspecting her. Was she changed...? No, she still had blood running through her veins. Embry, being confused by this, decided to pin it as the stench left on her clothes from living with the Cullen’s and pushed all thoughts aside, at least for now.
His eyes flashed to the floor as a thought crossed his mind. Should he go over? A part of him actually wanted to. He had seen her around a lot, and even though he denied it, she did attract his attention somehow. Jared always joked that she could be his imprint, but of course that’s not true since you imprint on first sight. But even though he didn’t imprint on the girl, Jared still tried to push him to go over and start up a conversation with her, not just her, but a few other girls as well. But truth was Embry was...scared?
He wanted to imprint. There was nothing he wanted more. At first he claimed he would hate to imprint, being attached to someone, it sounds silly. But as he grew older, it started to tug at him, and he wanted to have someone. Sure, that want could easily be satisfied. He could go up to any girl and ask her out, ‘chat her up’, get into a relationship. But being as unlucky as he was, he would most likely imprint just when things got serious. Then he would have to leave the girl he’s with for the girl he imprinted on, which is something he wanted to avoid more than anything. He knew from Sam, Leah and Emily that that wasn’t something you’d want to be caught in the middle of.
With all that thought, Embry decided he would rather not, and had to force himself to turn away. After all, Jared stopped pushing him toward this girl once they found out she’s a Cullen. But strangely enough he didn’t care. She wasn’t a vampire, so it wasn’t that big of a deal. Besides, his trust in the Cullen’s grew a bit stronger considering everything they all went through. But still, it wasn’t the fact that she was a Cullen that drove him away, it was the whole imprint thing.
He stepped closer to the table he was going to sit at, but as he took his second step, he sighed, eyes flashing up to look out the window. Screw this, right? It felt like he was never going to imprint. Everyone in the pack already did, Jacob practically included, it was just him, and he was sick of being alone, of sitting back in the corner while watching everyone happy with their other half. He took in a deep breath and half nodded to himself encouragingly before he turned on his feet and let the breath out, heading over to her table.
He slowed and came to a stop before her, nervously rubbing the back of his neck ”Uh, hi...” he greeted, dropping his hand with a small wave, trying his best not to be as awkward as he always was when it came to girls ”This seat taken?” he asked, pointing to the chair opposite her before he dropped his hand to his side, nervously placing his thumb into his jean’s pocket.
