Ekkanne was definitely, physically though, very small. Herself standing at 4'5, maybe 4'6 and her voice was high and naturally very soft. Though there were things about her that suggested differently. Like the way she held herself, straight as a stick, her eyes glittering, and usually wearing a dress. And true to her irish heritage, she had auburn hair though over the years, it had dulled from flaming red to an auburn color with a brown hue while her skin, even as a human, was abnormally pale while her warm brown eyes were actually just darkened to brown, gold eyes. Her personality, too, it was as loud as a firetruck roaring away on the road, or a crowd of five thousand of people. She was stubborn, mischievous but a good listener and comforted whoever. Now, as the tiny nine year old ordered a coffee and a bagel from a coffee shop in Forks, no one could doubt it looked strange. Except for her, of course as she usually always had coffee in the mornings. Sitting herself down, she glanced outside the window and rapped her knuckles against the glass as the storm raged on outside. Sheets of water rained down as people moved fast in wet raincoats. Chuckling, Ekki was glad she wasn't outside and settled down in her blue, velvety dress and her new sneakers.
"Then there was rain The sky wore a veil of gold and gray At night it was the bright of the moon with me Time just floating
Then there was rain The sound foundations are crumbling To the ground comes a bit of a-tumbling And time just floated away We watch it and stay and we can listen"
And thus she sang the song by Coldplay, a fitting one for the weather too. Softly, her voice chimed as she abandoned her cup of coffee and settled on contentedly staring putside the window as she remembered her mom, from her human days, used to sing the same song on rainy days except she would always sing, "And the thunderstorms roll by but still we remain unscathed," instead of the original ending. Drumming her fingers against the tables surface to the beat, she nodded her head along and wished she was back at her beloved beachhouse that the community of La Push provided her with. The wood planks it was made out of, she yearned for. The sound of the water crashing against the shore that wafted through the window, she wanted to hear that again and the homely feel of that abandoned beachhouse, well, she needed that and suddenly she felt like an armadillo, she wanted to curl up in a ball as the people stared at her for singing.
Her mind was racing and she wished she was back at her beachhouse. Only if she had Dorothy's ruby slippers. Suddenly, the bell jingled, signaling a new customer coming in and jumping up, Ekki looked around for whoever came and silently thanked him or her for distracting the onlookers. Why couldn't she be back in La Push?

People could day that life was too short to ponder on the small things in life. However, that statement did not apply to her since she would never died of natural causes. Aurora was hybrid, to be more precise a human/vampire hybrid. Aurora has a long history and most of it was spent alone. She was born a long time ago and her true age is known. Her mother died when giving birth to her and her father was a nomad vampire that did raise her and they had a good relationship, she had been very much a daddy’s little girl. However that changed when her father committed a crime and hid her away, she was nine at the time, though fully matured. He was killed by the Volturi and she has been on her own since, she resorted to moving from place to place experiences the world but it can become very lonely when she travels. Rory survives on both human food and blood; though she is partial to blood since she has been living among humans, she eats food. She has a power, it is Molecular Immobilization, when she came into contact with the odd vampire, if she caught them quick enough she could freeze them in mid-step giving enough time to try and get away. It was a lonely life she lived in, but she tried to have good times and though she looked eighteen, she had fake ID that made her pass for twenty-two for when she needed it the most.
Aurora walked down the street dressed in a pair of black jeans, a beige top completed with a leather jacket and her boots. She had to play the part of being human after all. There was a slight bit of sunshine through the clouds; however, her skin only had a slight glow it was nothing to draw attention to herself as she walked down the street. She was missing blood and she just wanted to taste that metallic taste again. Sighing to herself, she saw a coffee shop she shook her head a little and decided to head into the place. Opening the door, she stepped in to see that it was quiet shrugging her shoulders she ordered a coffee and a piece of fudge cake. That was her favourite human food. She was blessed in that she would never put on weight since she was active since part of her was human. Turning on her heel, she saw a young girl sat on her own in a coffee shop, now that was a peculiar sight, until she recognised what she was. Walking over, she sat down opposite her not asking and she crossed her legs. “I am quite surprise to find such… a person in here drinking coffee when it does not suit their diet.” She said taking her own coffee in her hands. It was hard to identify that she was not fully human, since she could blend in so well.

Ekkanne watched as a woman walked in and ordered a fudge cake and a coffee. The woman was about to leave when she locked eyes with Ekki. Something about this human...Was interesting. She smelled of vampire and human at the same time and Ekki wondered how she could. The concept of human and vampire hybrids or hybrids in general was strange to her as she was a newborn and was promptly unaware of many things in the vampiric life. The woman walked over to her table to sit across from her and inquire about Ekki's taste in drinks. Rolling her eyes, she broke off half of the woman's fudge cake to eat. Taking a fork, she bit into the half she'd chopped off and without waiting for this woman's protest, she grinned.
"Bite me," She muttered in response to her nonexistant protests that Ekki was sure to come. "And my diet? I eat like any regular vegetarian human. I don't believe in harming animals. It would be creepy as I can talk to them, you know?" She took a sip of her coffee lightly as she shifted nervously.
"Anyway, shouldn't you say, 'Hello, how are you,' or at least 'Who are you?' Speaking of which, who are you and why do you smell like human and vampire?" Ekki asked.

Aurora had never been one to beat around the bush, she would get straight to what was on her mind and the matter of a vampire sat drinking coffee was not normal at all, but her eyes gave her away and she could see that she was on a vegetarian vampire. It was a rare occurrence for her see it, and people were equally surprised to find out what she was but often ran off before they could ask any more questions about what she was. Rory thought she was a very rare creature and she knew that some vampires would consider that a threat, she did not want to risk her life, not after her father died protecting her. “Cheeky mere.” She spoke raising an eyebrow, a slight smile on her face when the young female took a bit of her cake. “That can’t taste too good to you.”
Her eyebrow stayed risen as she listened to what she was saying. “Well that is an interesting story because I am a little bit of both.” Her eyes flashed slightly in amusement. “I’m Aurora, or Rory as my father called me and who are you?” Aurora asked her before continuing. “My mother was a human and died giving birth to me; my father was a vampire which resulted in me.” She took another sip of her coffee. “Nice power you have there, I am blessed with my own.” Her power was something she could count on when she needed it the most.

Ekki grinned when the other female commented on her stealing a bit of her food but she didn't seem angry. She propped her chin on her fists as she stared at the woman before her with a smile.
"Well, yes, it can taste pretty good. Unfortunately, it really doesn't," She responded as she copied the woman and cocked one of her eyebrows. "Aurora? Hmm, that reminds me of Sleeping Beauty. Nice to meet you, Rory," She laughed quietly as she stuffed her hands into her dress pockets as she listened to Aurora's next words.
"Well, I'm sorry about your mom dying, and...So you're a hybrid? Where's the stork in that?" She said and then proceeded to answer to answer Rory's next statement.
"Thank you! Wait...You have a power too? What is it? Can you show me? Can I have the rest of your fudge cake?"

“Well I had the name first, they stole it from me.” Aurora said playfully about the sleeping beauty comment, ironically it was her favourite fairytale. This little girl was amusing, but in a good way, she could not help but laugh with her it was sweet to be around. “Honestly, I can eat human food but I prefer blood it tastes far better than any type of food could.” Rory chuckled a little. It was nice to talk to someone else, even if she looked like a young girl, but that did not bother her at all. “I get to play human, though I get asked if I am feeling ill because of how pale I look.” She grinned at her, winking playfully at her. Men often came up to her because she was considered beautiful, it kept her amused.
“My, my you are very nosy, but if you have to know its Molecular Immobilization, meaning that I can freeze objects, it comes in handy quite often.” She chuckled and looked slightly shocked at her last question. “You really are a cheeky one, I suppose you can.” Aurora took her first and last bite of the cake as she slid the piece over to her. “So what do I call you?”

Ekki grinned as she picked up the last bit of Rory's fudge cake. "Normally, I'd say stealing is wrong but that would make me a bit of a hypocrite on my part," Ekki said, gesturing towards the fudge cake that she held. Taking another sip of her coffee, she realized it was empty. And that fast, She thought but shrugged and pushed it away from herself. "That's yours, I don't want it," She grinned. Then she nodded and sighed.
"Yeah, blood is better but I find it creepy, like I'm a character in a horror movie, if you must know 3D too, except it's real," She agreed with Aurora whole heartedly.
"At least you get to play ill, I have to play pathetic little girl. Okay, I know that I'm really, honestly nine but that doesn't mean I have to be treated like a pathetic puppy!" She said. "Well, uh, minus the dog food in a dog bowl part."
"You can freeze things? That's so cool! I wanna see you do it! I'm Ekkanne but I don't really like that name so I'll kindly ask you to call me Ekki unless you want a horde of rabbits to attack your garden...If you have a garden."

Aurora tilted her head to the side. “Something tells me that you look sweet and innocent but you are far from it Ekki.” She chuckled looking at her when she spoke the comment about being a hypocrite. It was highly amusing to her as she raised yet another eyebrow at her. “You only decide to be a monster if that is what you want, there are other options but blood I am told is vital to existing or you runs the risk of killing when the thirst is too much.” Rory took another sip of her coffee after she spoke.
“No you don’t have to play that, you be who you are, people will just assume that you are wise beyond your years and talk to you like an adult.” She told Ekki, she had it briefly, as she was growing to maturity and told people to not talk to her as if she was a child, in her mind she was not since mentally she was much older. A slight grin appeared on her face as she asked to see her power. Looking around she saw that they were on their own apart from the waiter and chief. “Watch this.” She smirked as she raised her hands and froze them both in their tracks for a moment before stopping and they carried on as if nothing had happened. “What do you think? And leave my garden alone!” Aurora laughed.

Ekki listened to Rory talk and a slow smile spread across her lips. She liked talking to Aurora. She made her laugh and it seemed like Rory would be a good friend. Then she tilted her head and grinned.
"Of course I'm not innocent. Nor am I sweet. Are we describing some sort of candy here?" She said, agreeing happily with Rory's comment on her being sweet and innocent.
"I don't think we're monsters. That would be pessimistic to call ourselves that and we'd have low self-esteem," She answered softly. Then she averted her gaze both the waiter and the chef who had suddenly froze mid-activity. And suddenly they were back to normal, like nothing had happened. In other words, Ekki's mouth dropped.
"Rumplestiltskin's stilts! Your power's amazing! Good enough to save you from my bunnies!" She approved with a chuckle.

“Oi, be nice you little monster.” Aurora grinned at her when she replied to her comment about not being sweet and innocent. The more she talked to her, there was certainly more to her and she was enjoying her company as strange as it sounded. She missed the company of chatting with someone and the banter she used to have with her father. Aurora did miss him dearly and she continued living in his memory. She certainly did think far too much some times and her head was spinning with what would go through her mind. Aurora had enough of it most of the time.
“It is a handle gift; it stops me from becoming a snack to passing… creatures, though it is not powerful enough to freeze a large number of people.” Aurora chuckled. “And thank the lord that I escape you and your evil bunnies, my garden will grow another day.” She winked playfully at her. “So where do you live?”
