HISTORY: Astrid was the second child born to Leslie and Richard Reid in the small town of Augusta, Montana. She was a bouncy child and always the one to approach others and immediately assume that they were now best friends. Her older brother, Daniel Reid, was always her role model and she would follow him around everywhere. By the time Astrid reached High School, Daniel had graduated already and had joined the military. The siblings kept in touch as much as possible as Astrid continued to be the social butterfly of her school.
One week after Astrid's eighteenth birthday, however, everything took a turn for the worst. Daniel was reported missing in action and only one month later, his body was found. To say that Astrid was crushed would be an underestimate. The once bubbly and hyper girl was now depressed and felt as if she was completely alone. Months passed and despite her parents' best efforts to help Astrid through counseling and medication, Astrid made little to no progress. Three months after learning about her brother's death, Astrid made a fatal mistake.
Her car broke down halfway home from school and after waiting for a few minutes, Astrid took it upon herself to hike to the nearest gas station. The day was dark and foggy since a storm was on its way, but Astrid had long stopped paying attention to trivial things such as the weather. After about fifteen minutes of walking, Astrid suddenly felt the blood chilling feeling that she was being watched. She paused and eyed the fog-covered pastures next to her when suddenly, blood red eyes caught her attention. Faster than Astrid though humanly possible, the piercing eyes were in front of her and a hulk like man towered over her. Astrid barely opened her mouth to scream before a large hand nearly suffocated her.
The man eyed Astrid and she could only shudder as her mind conjured all of the possibilities of how the man in front of her was going to torture and eventually kill her. What Astrid did not expect was for the impossibly beautiful, yet lethal looking, man to mutter something about her ‘potential.’ She hardly had any time to dwell too long on this, however, because a sharp pain suddenly washed over her. Even with the man’s hand covering half of her face, Astrid was sure that the entire town would be able to hear her bloodcurdling screams. Astrid would later not even remember her time in an abandoned cabin. The only memory she still holds of those painful days is of the burning and endless screaming.
After three days of pure torture, Astrid opened her eyes and was welcomed into the vampire world by the same hulking man who had kidnapped her. She learned that his name was Alexander and that she was not his only victim. Several other innocent humans that Alexander claimed had potential to have special abilities were also turned just before Astrid. Astrid was immediately taught the basics of vampire life and rules that come with it. She slowly fell into the routine with her adopted vampire companions and even grew attached to a few. While the others seemed to realize their abilities quickly, Astrid, even after three months, still had not shown any signs of having an ability.
One night, the youngest of the newborns, Thalia, pulled Astrid aside during their routine hunt. She confided in Astrid that she had heard Andrew talking to the eldest new born about getting rid of Astrid because she was “of not use to him.” With a few parting words and a quick hug, Astrid quickly fled her hometown. For the next few months, Astrid roamed the western states as she battled with her new life as a vampire. Because she was still a newborn, Astrid was constantly tempted to simply wipe out an entire family reunite or murder a grocery store full of unsuspecting victims. Somehow, Astrid always managed to grasp at some form of humanity before she acted. Shortly after leaving Andrew, Astrid came across a small band of nomadic vampires. While she was with them, Astrid discovered her ability: mimicry.
(Astrid can mimic the power of any vampire, however, she can only mimic one ability at a given time and she must make physical contact with the vampire before hand. Also, the further she goes from the vampire whom she is mimicking, the weaker her ability to mimic the power is until she can no longer mimic it. )
Just before her nineteenth birthday, Astrid reached the Washington State border. She had heard rumors from nomads that vampires lived in a small town in Washington and that these vampires had golden eyes. The thought of golden eyed vampires intrigued Astrid and her desperate need for company finally pushed her to cross the state boundary and head for Forks.

RP SAMPLE:Astrid clenched her fists as the sweet scent of human blood hit her like a train. She immediately came to a halt and peered through the moss covered trees, searching for the source of the mouth watering scent. A small couple chatted only a few feet away from her and Astrid could already feel her killer instincts taking over. Each twitch that the small humans made was noticed as she crept ever closer. The still crazed side of Astrid begged her to simply pounce and do what ever it took to drain the bodies as quickly as possible. The more sane side of her, however, resisted and kept a firm hold on sanity. She knew that she must resist her newborn instincts and instead, stealthily claim her meal.
Although she had learned many things from Andrew in her short amount of time with him, Astrid knew that she owed much of her knowledge and skills to the small band of nomads that she had passed not long ago. Concentrating, Astrid could still 'feel' the male, Leonard, and his ability to control water in the back of her mind, but by now she had traveled much too far away from the nomads to be able to harness the ability. The sound of pots and pans clashing broke Astrid from her thoughts and she quickly focused on the task at hand. With a sinister smile, she circled the small clearing, eyeing the pair and calculating her best options for how to feed quickly and most importantly, quietly.
The mere thought of the Volturi had Astrid shuddering and hissing lowly. Both Andrew and the band of nomads made sure to emphasize how important it was for Astrid to avoid the Volturi's radar. She was told many horrible stories about the Volturi's punishments and how there was no escape once a vampire caught their attention. The band of nomads seemed especially concerned about Astrid catching the Volturi's attention, but she was not sure why. With a low growl, Astrid coiled her muscles and pounced onto the unsuspecting couple, leaving her thoughts behind for a later time.
Within an hour, Astrid was ready to move on. Filled and pleased with her work, she eyed the scene in front of her. Although Astrid was never one for dramatics, she knew that she had to make the scene appear as realistic as possible. Humans were quick to pass vampire feedings off as animal attacks, but it was still necessary to make the scene at least appear as if an animal had gone mad. Well an animal did go mad, but not the animal they will be thinking of, Astrid thought with a small frown. She had accepted what she was while living with Andrew, but Astrid still could not help but feel disgusted with herself as she gazed upon the lifeless bodies.
Her train of thoughts suddenly turned towards the curious vampires that were rumored to live in Washington and in one swift motion, Astrid sprung up from her hunched position and broke into a steady run. She had enjoyed her time in Oregon, but something told Astrid that she needed to investigate these rumors and to do so, she must find out for herself in Washington
